It was decade ago when the Board of Regents of the University of Batangas (formerly WPC) envisioned the idea of integrating health and wellness of the people in its life-long commitment to service through scholarly endeavors and skills competency. This marked the birth of the College of Nursing and Midwifery of the University of Batangas as a response to the dismal health situation in the country. The college is the academe’s instrument to provide health care service to the people within the urban and rural settings most especially to the portion of the populace who have not receive adequate heath care / After sometime, the College of Nursing and Midwifery was granted the government permit to open and operate the first year courses of the both four-year Nursing Curricula and two year program of Midwifery. From its humble beginnings, the college is now one of the recognized and prepared nursing and midwifery programs in Batangas The college is affiliated to St. Patrick’s Hospital Medical Center as its base hospital and other provincial and city health agencies, including the community clinical sites, while remaining on the forefront of today’s dynamic health care settings. Its affiliations serve an imperative task in the training and growth of caring, skilled health professionals. The college is now headed by Ms. Bernadette Reyes, RN., RM., MAN as Dean and Mrs. Rufina M. Dimalibot, RN., RM., MPA as Midwifery head with 21 full-time & 15 part time faculty members, and 90 external clinical instructors. Philosophy The College of Nursing was established to meet the educational needs of Nursing and Midwifery students to provide Nursing Care Services to the people within the urban and rural setting most especially to the portion of the populace who have not receive adequate health care. Vision The college is envisioned to be recognized nationwide and be epitome of excellence in health promotion, restoration and maintenance through continuing education, research, and social service. Mission The College of Nursing and Midwifery’s mission is develop and hone future health care professionals, leaders and health advocates with sound theoretical background nursing skills teaching ability, bound with moral values and a strong community orientation that can make substantial contribution in meeting the health needs and complete well-being of the society as a channel of self-reliance.
