Top Nursing Schools in the Philippines

One of the best ways to measure excellence of an educational institution is by looking how its graduates fared in the board exam conducted by the Professional Regulatory Commission. The board exam serves as the standard measuring stick to rate how academic schools are able to educate and train its students to meet the minimum quality and standards of nursing education.  In lieu of which, this list of the top nursing schools in the Philippines is based its performance on the Nursing Board Exam.

Topping the list is St. Paul University in Iloilo, a private Catholic university that is part of the Saint Paul University System. It was establish in Iloilo in 1975 by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres.  Nursing and healthcare is at the core of the St. Paul University system because the caring of the poor and the sick forms a major part of the apostolic mission of the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres.

University of the Philippines- Manila or UP Manila is manila branch of the premium state university. Founded in 1908, it serves as the center of health sciences education in the Philippines and has a strong component of research.  While UP may rank only second, it produced more registered nurses and more top board passers.

Mary Johnston College of Nursing is originally known as the Philippine Christian University.  It is private university founded in 1946, which focuses on a comprehensive or holistic approach to student development, which emphasized on personality and social development aside from academics.

The Negros Oriental State University, or previously known as the Central Visayas Polytechnic College, is the last university that consistently produced 100% passing rate of its graduates in the nursing board exam.  It is a public university in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, whose principal mission is to assist the Filipinos endeavor a better quality of life.

Saint Louis University is one of the leading educational institutions located in the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio City.  For its academic excellence, it has made Baguio the center of education and learning in Northern Luzon.

West Visayas State University (WVSU) was founded in 1902 as Iloilo Normal School. The continued expansion program of the academic institution in order to serve the educational needs of the Visayan region prompted its evolution to become a university that provides affordable quality education to the public.  The university is also a research and development center for biological science education.

Other top nursing skills that generate at least an average of 90% passing rates in the nursing board exam are as follows: Trinity University of Asia, QC, St. Paul University Dumaguete, Cebu Normal University, University of St. Louise Tugegarao, University of Santo Tomas, Chinese General Hospital College of Nursing and University of the East Ramon Magsaysay.

    I can’t believe it na wala ang Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. I bet it’s even better that UERM. What is the basis for this article?

    hindi ka yata nagbasa or di mo naintindihan english kasi ang nakasulat.saan school kaba galing?epa translate mo kung meron marunong maka intindi ng english dyan sa lugar nyo.malinaw ang sinabi ng professional regulation commission or PRC.THE BOARD EXAM SERVES AS STANDARD MEASURING STICK.read and understand.simple English lang yan even elementary nakakaintindi nyan.
