Description:
The Practical Nursing Program is a comprehensive one-year U.S. adapted course divided into four quarters that encompasses classroom and clinical instruction in all phases of direct patient care.
During the prescribed course of training, the practical nursing student acquires the knowledge and skills of the concepts of the basic human needs throughout the human life cycle utilizing the nursing process. Each student receives bedside nursing experiences in hospitals, nursing homes, community-based facilities and other health-related institutions while under the supervision and guidance of the Registered Nurse Instructor, hence, this course prepares the students to assume the caring role in the prevention of the disease, promotion and restoration of health and the alleviation of the suffering of the patients or clients.
PRACTICAL NURSING is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for entering a challenging career in nursing. LPN cares for the sick; injured, convalescing and handicapped under the direction of the physicians and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
The students in the PN program will receive supervised experience in caring for the patients in variety of health care setting including hospitals, long-term care clinic, and child care. Providing the basic bedside care and manner toward the sick is the most important of all. PN student are taught to practice within the scope of Practical Nursing while under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They are taught to use the nursing process at the practical level.
A graduate with a diploma in nursing can be a Licensed Practical Nurse after he/she passes NCLEX-PN.
