Providence Hospital Quezon City
Providence Hospital was initially a new small general hospital located at a 6,903.12 square meter land in 1515 Quezon Avenue, West Triangle, Quezon City. The strategic location of the hospital in a commercial shopping strip makes it more accessible to the public. However, it also posted a challenge for developing an infrastructure that will provide access to its departments and service areas from a single street facade.
With the building completed sometime in August 2011, Providence hospital was only in operation for just a year. On May, 2012, the Board of Investments (BOI) of Quezon City has allocated P1.22 billion for the expansion a 500-bed infirmary for the Providence Hospital, Inc. This has transformed the Providence hospital into a medical tourism hospital which will be equipped with the most advanced healthcare facilities in the world as well as the most competent world class healthcare practitioners and experts, the Philippines is known for. This project was inline with the city’s medical tourism project, which is expected to create additional 300 jobs for the locals and generate $3B of revenues for Quezon city by 2015.
According to its company president, Dr. Dave Tan, Providence hospital will provide both inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital initially offered specialized renal services such as dialysis and kidney transplant. However, as a medical tourism hospital, Providence hospital also specializes in plastic surgery, which especially targets people who does not only want to live for more years but to look better and fit as they age. This especially targets rich countries with a growing aging population such as the US, Canada, UK and Japan. Providence Hospital posts itself as alternative international healthcare hospital that provides world class services at much affordable prices.
Aside from aesthetic services, Providence hospital will also provide medical services in which the Philippines’ is particularly known for such as cardiology, ophthalmology and dentistry. As a premier hospital, its services is comparable to other local primary health care institutions like St. Luke’s Medical Center, Metropolitan Medical Center, and Makati Medical Center, among others.
