IVT Training Philippines

January 19, 2012 Category :All About Nursing| Training Centers 3

IVT or Intravenous Therapy is the injection of liquid substances directly into a vein to rectify electrolyte imbalances, to give medicine, facilitate blood transfusion, or infuse fluids to prevent dehydration, among other.  The IVT training therefore is primarily designed to ensure safe practice in the conduct of Intravenous Therapy which involves the enhancement of the nurse’s mind-set and provision of additional and practical knowledge and skills in the performance of the role of intravenous nurse therapists.

The intended audience of an IVT therapy training included registered nurses, certified IV therapists, health related professionals and technicians such as doctors as well as Interns, medical technologists, midwife and even caregivers.  IVT training is especially needed by nurses to acquire IV therapy certification in compliance to the Philippine Nursing Act of 2002 (R.A. 9173). The ANSAP (Association of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines) would like to ensure safe nursing practice in the administration of parental injection. Moreover, IV therapy training certified nurses are often preferred by government and private hospitals for employment purposes.  In lieu of which, it is equally important to be trained in ANSAP-accredited IV therapy training hospital or provider to acquire proper certification because ANSAP is the only nursing organization that is given authority and mandate to administer and accredit the same as stipulated by PRC-BON Resolution No. 08, series of 1994.

Caregiver schools in Quezon City

November 16, 2011 Category :Caregiver Schools| Training Centers 1

With the growing aging population in many first world countries, the demand for care giving services has increased unprecedently which to developing countries like the Philippines only meant more job opportunities.  Under these circumstances, many caregiving schools have sprouted around the nation in response to the growing demand for caregiving courses.  A caregiving program is often an intensive program that is comprised of learning the key competencies that a person must possess to effectively provide care and support aged individuals as well as to infants and other people with special needs.  While care giving may be a natural skill among Filipinos considering that Filipinos are naturally caring, certain skills have to be learned to become a professional caregiver and qualify for job placement abroad.  As have mentioned, there are numerous schools and TVET institutions that offer care giving courses.  Aside from ensuring that standards are met and the required pertinent experience of practicing the skills are achieved, the proximity of your school of choice to study caregiving is definitely a factor in order to reduce costs in one’s studies.  For Quezon City residents, hereunder is a list of caregiver schools in Quezon City in alphabetical order along with their respective addresses, contact numbers and contact persons:

Research Institute for Tropical Medicine

September 8, 2009 Category :Training Centers 2

The Research Institute for Tropical Medicine was formally established in 1981 with the signing of E.O. 674, authorizing the creation of a research facility under the Department of Health. This was funded by a grant-in-aid from the Government of Japan, administered through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The RITM is tasked with planning and implementing research programs for infectious and/or tropical diseases. In 1989, through another grant-in-aid from the Japanese Government, the RITM Center for Training in Tropical Infectious Diseases was established for the expansion and integration of the RITM core facilities. In November 2000, the Biologicals Production Service (BPS) of the Department of Health was formally merged with the RITM. The history of BPS dates back in the 18th century under the Spanish Regime when King Charles IV sent a scientific mission to the Philippines. The objective of the mission was to look into the smallpox problem in the Philippines. The mission established the vaccine laboratory in the country with smallpox vaccine as the first product. The vaccine laboratory was later expanded to produce other vaccines as well as anti-sera. The merger of RITM and BPS gave rise to a more comprehensive and logical approach in the control of infectious and/or tropical diseases through research and biologicals production.
