November 2009 Nursing Board Exam Result

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 37, 527 out of 94,462 nursing graduates passed the November, 2009 licensure examination.

The successful examinees who garnered the 10 highest places are the following:

5th AO Trauma Course – Principles in Operative Fracture Management

Warning On Fake Job Offers in UK

The Philippine Embassy in London issued an advisory for Filipino online jobseekers looking for employment in the United Kingdom, advising them to be more cautious in view of the rampant cases of bogus internet job offers.
They should be wary of attractive jobs offered by the employers or their agents who would ask applicants to remit a certain amount of money purportedly to pay for the processing of their visas or work permits and other travel-related expenses.

The purpose of this course is to provide an Initial Registration to Overseas Registered Nurses, who meet the requirements of the Nurses Board of Victoria’s (NBV) standards for registration Division1). New NCLEX-RN Passing Standard

The NCSBN Board of Directors voted to raise the passing standard for the NCLEX-RN Examination at its meeting on Dec. 10, 2009

Starting April 1, 2010, a new passing standard of -0.16 logits will be implemented to the NCLEX-RN examination. The new standard represents an increase of 0.05 logits from the current passing standard of -0.21 logits. Per NCSBN policy, NCLEX passing standards are reevaluated once every three years to accommodate possible changes in entry-level nursing practices. » Continue Reading

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced the start of interview sessions for nurses and caregivers for Japan at the POEA Head Office at Ortigas cor. EDSA, Mandaluyong City.  The interview will run from February 1 to February 6.

World Cancer Day 2010 Campaign: “Cancer can be prevented too”

World Cancer Day is marked on February 04, 2o1o to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its preventioh, detection and treatment.  The observance is led by the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), a global consortium of more than 280 cancer-fighting organizations in over 90 countries.

The UICC organizes the World Cancer Campaign and the World Cancer Congress as well as coordinates World Cancer Day on the 4th of February eacj uaer/  It initiated the World Cancer Campaign in 2005 in response to the Charter of Paris of 2000.
