Caregiver Tuition Fee in the Philippines

Giving care to anybody is like loving and nurturing the person without any hesitations and full of compassion. It also means protecting them from harm and danger. There are many schools in the Philippines that offer care giving as a short course. With fierce competition among training providers, enrolling in care giving had been made easier and hassle free. Care giving Training schools have sprouted in every corner of the country because of the booming demand for professional caregivers. This demand is often attributed to the aging baby boom population.

There is a certain similarity with the courses in care giving and nursing. The former however involves more basic health care knowledge and involves more hands-on practical experience. Among the Institutions that short courses on care giving are the Adventist University of the Philippines in Puting Kahoy Silang Cavite; Asia Pacific Institute of Health Sciences and Foundation in Cavite, Absolute Health and Social Services Care Institute in Sampaloc, Manila. What is important in choosing a training institution is that they are accredited by the Technical Education ad Skills Development Authority or TESDA. TESDA is the government arm that provides practical skills and training development for technical and vocational occupations that is primarily geared for overseas employment.

A basic concern in studying care giving is the tuition fee cost which can vary apparently because of locations, brand, course contents and quality of the training provider. However, the tuition cost ranges between 35,000 to 45,000 for a seven month course training often inclusive of On the Job Training (OJT). Schools usually allow TF payment on an installment basis. A down payment is made upon registration and the remaining balance can be paid on a monthly basis or in two or three installments.

Considering the intensive training and development in the care giving course as well as the expected compensation of for professional caregivers, the tuition fee is truly reasonable. This short term investment is practical and sensible compare to the investment one needs to put up in finishing a college degree. Aside from the short term course, which allows a person to immediately find employment, the remuneration afforded to caregivers is also comparable if not even sometime better than those with college degrees. It is a rewarding and gratifying career once you landed a job as caregiver. The salary and benefits are very satisfying.

Countries where caregivers are in demand included Canada, United Kingdom, and the Middle East. Now the Japanese government is opening their doors to Filipinos who wanted to work as caregiver in their country although another requirement would be to speak Nihonggo. Studying as care giver does not entail spending much money, time and effort compared to a regular college degree. More importantly, there are work opportunities that await them.
