Registration for review for voluntary retake of Tests 3, 5 starts March 21

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) today announced that the registration for the Special Review program for the voluntary retake examinations of the equivalent of Tests III and V of the June 2006 Nursing Licensure Examination will begin on March 21 until April 4, 2007. Labor and Employment Secretary Arturo D. Brion, in a news conference Saturday at the University of the Philippines in Manila, indicated that the registration for the Special Review program may either be on-line through a website established by the DOLE for the purpose, or manual registration. Registrants are advised to follow these procedures: For on-line registration, 1) type http://www.specialnursingreview.dole.gov.ph on the address bar of your Internet browser; 2) click the Register button on the menu bar; 3) type your PRC License number and Last name on the corresponding box provided, then click the Register button; 4) type the necessary information to complete the registration process, then click the Continue button; 5) select your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preferences from the list of specific fields (area, school, and schedule) then click the Submit button; 6) click the Print button to obtain a copy of proof of registration; 7) a notification will be sent to your contact number (text or e-mail) by the COE or selected nursing schools prior to the start of special review class; 8) once notified, you must secure a copy of proof of confirmation by visiting the website and simply printing the confirmation slip as provided by the system; 9) click the “if already registered, check your confirmation here” message at the bottom part of the screen; 10) and, to view and print the proof of confirmation, type your PRC license number and Last Name on corresponding box provided, then click Check confirmation and Print buttons, respectively. For manual registration, 1) secure a Registration Form from any DOLE Regional or Provincial Office or any of the listed COE and selected nursing schools; b) fill up the necessary information; c) submit the accomplished form to any of the offices/institutions and secure a copy of registration; d) a notification will be sent to your contact number or e-mail by the COE and selected nursing schools, if you haven’t received a notification two weeks prior to your scheduled date of review, you may visit any of the offices mentioned for the list of confirmed reviewees; 5) and, once notified, you must secure a copy of proof of confirmation from the schools indicated in the notification document/text message. Manual registration may be done either in the Regional Centers of Excellence (COEs) coordinating schools, Participating Nursing Schools, and DOLE Regional and Provincial Offices. Both on-line and manual registrants to the Special Review program are advised that the proof of confirmation must be presented during the first meeting of the review. Brion said that the Special Review Program is being made available free of charge, on a first-come, first served basis, in coordination with the recognized COEs in the field of nursing, and participating nursing schools. The COEs are as follows: University of the Philippines Manila, Saint Paul University Philippines, University of Sto. Tomas, UERM Medical Center, St. Paul University Iloilo, Silliman University, St. Louis University Baguio City, Xavier University Cagayan de Oro, and San Pedro College Davao. Nationwide, the Participating Nursing Schools are as follows: Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Trinity University of Asia, Saint Mary’s University – Bayombong, Saint Paul University – Dumaguete, Velez College, Saint Paul University – Manila, Remedios T. Romualdez Memorial School (Makati Medical Center), West Visayas State University, Sacred Heart College, PCU – Mary Johnston College of Nursing, Cebu Normal University, De La Salle Health Sciences Campus, Southern Luzon State University, Mariano Marcos State University, Cebu Doctors University, and University of the Philippines Manila School of Health and Sciences (Palo, Leyte, Philippines). source: Information and Publication Service
