Hello. My name is Chet Gujol, MSN, RN, CNS, CCRN [Alumnus] and was referred to you by my cousin, Dr. Marisa Ricardo from UNICEF.

I am writing to inquire if the Association might be interested in sponsoring a 1-day seminar I plan on presenting in the Philippines come December 2011. The title: Legal and Ethical Issues in Nursing in Western Countries [particularly the USA]. Topics included are: BRN/JCAHO [how they regulate nursing practice, where to look for resources], healthcare delivery systems [HMO, PPO, etc what they are, how they work, how they impact care of patients], political issues impacting the overhaul of Medicare/Medicaid, ethical dilemmas, the what, where, how, why, etc. of the environment the prospective nurse might work in the USA. I presented a seminar in Tagbilaran, Bohol about 2 years ago titled: Cardiac Surgery: An Overview for Nurses coordinated by Ms. Francisca Baluyot, President-CEO, Gift of Life Foundation and Emma Auza, President, PNA Bohol Chapter. With regards to my fees, this can be negotiated.

I hope that the Association will consider my proposal and forge a professional relationship between the Association and myself to plan for future seminars the Filipino Nurses may need.

    Thank you.
